Strand ("we," "us") operates StrandConnects.com, a directory that connects clients with license-verified, method-certified hair extension stylists. We collect only what we need to run the directory, review stylist applications, and process memberships — and we never sell your information.

What we collect

• Waitlist & contact details — your name, email, and general location when you join the waitlist or contact us.
• Stylist application details — name, email, phone, location, salon, the methods and certifications you offer, your booking link and social handle, and your cosmetology license information (number, issuing state, expiration, type, and a photo of your license). Your license number and license photo are used only to verify your license, are stored privately, and are never shown publicly.
• Payment information — for paid memberships, your card or bank details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card or bank numbers.
• Technical information — routine server-log data (such as IP address and browser type), as nearly all websites collect.

How we use it

• To operate the directory and connect clients with stylists.
• To review stylist applications and verify cosmetology licenses.
• To process membership payments and manage subscriptions.
• To contact you about your application, account, and Strand updates.
• To understand interest across cities and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who handles your information

We use a small set of service providers to operate Strand, under agreements that limit their use of your information to providing their service to us:

• Supabase — our secure database and sign-in for the admin and stylist accounts.
• Stripe — payment processing for paid memberships.
• Netlify — website hosting.

A stylist's public profile (name, location, methods, certifications, price range, booking link, portfolio, and social handle) is shown to clients by design. Private information — your license details and contact information — is not.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Strand and our users.

Cookies

This site does not run advertising trackers. We use only the minimum storage needed to keep you signed in to your account.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet our legal and tax obligations. You may ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under California law. To make a request, email support@strandconnects.com — we will respond promptly. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

Children

Strand is intended for licensed professionals and adult clients. This site is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
