Welcome to Strand. By using StrandConnects.com or submitting an application, you agree to these terms.

What Strand is

Strand is a directory that connects clients with license-verified, method-certified hair extension stylists. Strand is a discovery platform, not a salon. All appointments, services, and payments for services are arranged directly between clients and stylists through the stylist's own booking system. Strand is not a party to those arrangements and takes no commission or booking fees on them.

Applications & eligibility

• Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Strand hand-reviews every application and may accept or decline at its discretion.
• Every stylist must hold a valid, current cosmetology license, which we verify against the issuing state's board before a profile goes live. License details are never displayed publicly.
• You must be at least 18 and provide accurate, current information.

Memberships & billing

• Strand offers a free Basic listing and paid Pro and Elite memberships, billed monthly or annually as shown at signup.
• No charge until approved. If you select a paid tier, your payment details are securely saved at signup (by Stripe), but you are not charged until your license is verified and your application is approved.
• By selecting a paid tier you authorize Strand to charge your saved payment method when you're approved, and then automatically at the start of each billing period, until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops future charges. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable and the current period is not prorated.
• Founding members who choose annual billing lock in that founding rate permanently. Prices for new terms may change with notice.
• Payments are processed by Stripe; your card or bank details are handled by Stripe and never stored by Strand.

Your responsibilities

You agree to keep your application and profile accurate and current — including your license, certifications, methods, photos, and pricing tier. Portfolio photos must be your own work or work you have the right to use. You are solely responsible for the services you provide to clients and for honoring your own booking and pricing.

Clients

Browsing and searching Strand is free and requires no account. When you contact or book a stylist, you do so directly with that independent professional. Strand does not set prices, perform services, or guarantee outcomes.

Our content & brand

The Strand name, wordmark, logo, website design, and all site content are owned by Strand and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written permission.

Disclaimers

Strand verifies stylist licenses and reviews certifications, but stylists are independent professionals — Strand does not employ them, supervise their work, or guarantee any outcome of any service. The site and directory are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Strand will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or from any services arranged between clients and stylists. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid Strand in the twelve months before the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Strand harmless from claims arising out of your use of the site, the services you provide, or your breach of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms as Strand grows. Updated terms will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use of the site means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
